Growing Up

Landon has been growing up too fast and he is learning new things every day.  It is so much fun to watch him learn something new or try to new things.  He is saying so many words now and will repeat your word sometimes so you have to watch what you say.  Some of the words he is saying now are:
Mom
Dad
Nolan
Grandma
Mary Jo
Eyes
Nose
Hot
Fast
Jump
Elmo
Uh oh
Lots of animal sounds but his favorite are:
Elephant
Giraffe
Lion/Tiger
Hippo
Monkey
He does sign language for:
More
Please
Thank You
Drink
He had his 16 month appointment at the end of January and weighed 26 pounds and was 95th percentile for height and weight.
He is very picky on the food he eats right now, the two foods that he will eat every time we offer it are spaghettios and chicken noodle soup.  He does like most fruits too and will eat those whenever offered.    He loves his snacks and knows where we keep them now so he will come out of the kitchen carrying a box of cheese crackers or fruit snacks hoping we will let him eat them.  Landon does a great job of reminding us to pray before we eat, when Adam and I sit down at the table he will have his hands together and wait for us to pray, sometimes we might get an "Amen" out of him at the end.
When it is time to eat or he is hungry he will run to the kitchen and pull his drawer open where his silverware is kept.
He does a much better job of playing by himself and will go get tractors and play with them or his animals and set them up.  He still loves his books though and will pick those over toys 90% of the time.
He does a great job of going to bed at night and his bed time has been getting a little later because he is taking such good naps during the days.  When it is time to go to bed we will say "time to go night night" and he will go over and give Nolan and Dad a kiss and then wave bye bye and go up the stairs.  Sometimes if he is ready before we say anything he will just start waving and head toward the stairs.  He still has a lot of mornings that he is getting up too early!
Landon is the best little brother to Nolan.  He will bring him stuff from his kitchen and have Nolan eat it or drink it or he will bring him animals or books.  The other day I came out of the kitchen and Landon was sitting up on the couch with Nolan and he was looking at a book by him, it was so cute.
Here are some fun pictures from the last month of him.
Landon reading a book to Nolan and Mommy.
Landon feeding himself breakfast like a big boy.

Setting up all his animals on his tray!
Looking at his new baseball cards, daddy took his good cards and let him keep the bad ones!!
Pointing out Nolan's nose.
Reading a book with Daddy and signing for "more".
Still loves his "Duck and Goose" books.
Adam starting vacuuming and Landon ran and got his ball pop toy all on his own and followed Adam around with it like he was vacuuming too.

  1. How does Adam know which cards are the good ones? Maybe those "bad ones" will become great players later in their career.
