For Landon's birthday this year he wanted to go to the zoo. So the weekend before his birthday, the 16th, we traveled to the Blank Park Zoo with Grandma and Grandpa Kruse and met Uncle Jon, Aunt Emily, and Cousin Braxton there! It was a warm, rainy day but we made it through the whole zoo and then it rained on us at our last stop on the opposite side of the zoo. We waited it out with the giraffes for awhile and then made a run to the car before the next storm moved in. After the zoo Landon wanted to eat at Uncle Bucks in Bass Pro and then maybe pick out a new lure for fishing. We had a good meal and did a little shopping at Bass Pro before the guys took the kids back to Uncle Jon's house and the ladies did a little shopping in West Des Moines! We all had supper at the Nevada house before heading back home after a really fun day! Landon was happy with his decision to go to the zoo instead of having friends over this year! Next weekend was his actual birthday party with all the family!
