Grandpa Brad decided to take up ice fishing so we have made a few attempts at catching fish through the ice. It took a couple trips but we were finally able to catch some trout out of Moorland Pond and then took Landon out the next day to catch a few more.
First attempt out on Twin Lakes. Landon came out once we were set up with treats for us. I think Alex and Landon enjoyed the treats as much as anything else!
The rest of the treat crew. Absolutely no action this day but it was a trial run.
Landon was able to grab a minnow out of the bait bucket so that was a good.
On Grandpa Brad's birthday we headed to Brushy Creek to try for some crappies but once again didn't have any luck. A lady not too far from us caught a nice walleye so we really felt bad!
It was a very pretty sunset that night.
We finally got our shot at catching fish at Moorland Pond where we got to see them stock the trout.
Our haul for the day.
The next morning Landon got to come along and had to take a picture in his gear.
Grandpa Brad had the tent set up for us when we got there so Landon made himself at home and enjoyed some fruit loops.
Jeff and Austin came out to catch some trout too so Austin and Landon are looking down to see if any trout were swimming by. Landon liked to call them sharks.
This is what you could see as they swam by.
Austin caught one and showed Landon!
Hopefully the weather will start to warm up a little so the fish will be more active in a few weeks and we will be able to try Brushy Creek again and catch some more fish. Landon pretends to fish in his tent at home and that is much easier and warmer than heading out on the ice for him!
