We spent time on the boat fishing, lots of fishing and we caught quite a bit, so what if they were small fish! :) The guys went out just about every night to try and catch some Northerns. Grandpa Brad, Grandma Mary Jo and Mommy went out in the morning and we struggled but did catch some little blue gill and perch. Landon wasn't too interested in the fishing part but enjoyed looking at the fish when we got them on the boat!

The lake that we were on for the week was beautiful and you could see down to the bottom in more than 6 feet of water! We had lots of fun out on the boat cruising around looking at the houses on the shore or just relaxing. We spent some time in the water as well but it was a little chilly but that didn't bother Landon! We would take the boat out into the deeper parts of the water and then float around and Landon would jump into us.
Everyone out for a boat ride!

Jon kayaked all the way out to the boat one morning, we thought about towing him back in but he made it!

The family out on the boat, yes Landon fell asleep!
We had an eagle's nest outside our cabin back behind some trees, so we had to check on the baby eagle a couple times a day and we would watch the eagles fly in out of the nest.

The eagle is out on the right at the top and the nest is in the tree on the left!
We hung out at the cabin most of the time and Landon and Nolan enjoyed the attention from Aunt and Uncle and Grandma and Grandpa! They had a playground at the resort that Landon loved and they had activities for the kids on Tuesday and Thursday mornings! We had a couple of fires at night that Landon loved to watch and burn marshmallows!

On Wednesday morning we traveled to Duluth, about 1 1/2 hours away to do some sightseeing. Aunt Emily graduated from college there with her bachelors and masters so she knows the city really well and was excited to show it to us. Unfortunately it was a cold, windy day (just like most days there according to Jon) in Duluth but we were brave and still did the sightseeing! First we went to Enger Tower and saw views of the city from higher up and visited the pretty gardens there. After that we traveled up the shore to Betty's Pies for lunch and some yummy pie slices and pie shakes! After lunch we headed back into town and did some shopping along Canal Street and then visited the beach. It is amazing how large the lake is and how it looks just like an ocean! We finished the day up at a brew house for supper and then headed back to the cabin for the night! Duluth is beautiful city along the shore but you shouldn't have to have your winter clothes all year long! :)
