One of the stops along the way on Thursday.
We really did go to Wall Drug, twice actually but didn't take one picture. After Wall Drug Thursday night we drove into the first overlook of the Badlands, or Pridelands according to Landon, and it was pretty cool. It was just 9 miles from where were staying. There were big horn sheep very close to the parking area so Landon got a good view of them.
Nice cheese face from Landon
The overlook was above and we carried Nolan down 40 or so steps to get closer to the edge for these pictures. Going down was easier than going back up!
Friday morning Landon was determined to do some climbing so we found a nice little spot to do just that.
He was pretty brave until he got a little higher than this.
Tried taking a family picture.....
Landon at the entrance to the Park, he was pretty excited.
It didn't take long and we found the burrows right up by the car. We also saw some more big horn sheep, elk, deer, pronghorns, and prairie dogs but NO buffalo!
Playing with a couple of his buddies back at the cabin, Garrett and Nate.
Saturday morning we went to see Mount Rushmore.
Aunt Hunter, Grandma Linda, Grandpa Dennis, and Great Grandpa Ron came with us too.
Four generations of Ramthun men.
Sarah thinks this picture is funny as we are all looking at the mountain.
Family picture at Mount Rushmore
Landon and Aunt Hunter walked all the way down to the stage and Landon did his "Yeah Baby" for all to see.
Next we went to Keystone to do some shopping. After the shopping we went up chair lift to the top of a hill and took the alpine slide down. Just as we were taking off.
Here we come!
Whoosh! It was a good ride. Aunt Hunter went down the other track just before us.
After Keystone it was back to the wildlife loop to try and find the buffalo. At least we found a couple burrows again.
We did find a lone buffalo in the loop but we found this guy a couple miles before exiting the park. He came right out in front of us and we had to follow him for a little bit.
Landon was excited to follow the big buffalo and see him up close.
Back at the cabin for supper. Landon got to come out the tunnel. There is a picture of the whole family out there somewhere but not on our cameras.
