The Ramthun Family: Ramthun Family Weekend in Yankton

Last weekend, July 9th, we packed up the van and headed to Yankton to spend time at Lewis and Clark Lake. We met Grandpa Dennis, Grandma Linda, Aunt Hunter, Uncle Houston, and the Johnson Family. It was a HOT weekend and so we didn't get outside with all the kids as much as we had hoped. The cousins all played together so well all weekend and so did the adults! It was a fun mini getaway for the weekend, the house was very nice that we stayed in. Here are some of the highlights of the weekend.

Friday - Beach time! The water was pretty cool yet but it felt good since it was pretty hot out in the morning already.

Mabel enjoyed eating her lunch and then making a mess in her diaper at the beach!

They built some sand castles with some other girls that were there and then they destroyed it!

After the beach we went back to the house for the afternoon! Landon helping Grandpa Dennis get the charcoal started!

Mabel, Nolan, and Aubrey stayed back at the house with Grandpa and Grandma while the rest of us went out on the pontoon in the afternoon with Ray and Mary (Linda's brother and his wife).

A few got in the water, 67 degrees! Landon fell asleep on the boat so he didn't get in.

Saturday morning a group got ready and headed out to the fish hatchery.

Saturday afternoon Landon and Daddy made the trek down to the lake from the back of house. To get down there you follow a path behind the house down to a STEEP path. Landon walked all the way down there and then most of the way up by himself, twice!!

In the center of the neighborhood that we were staying in were all sorts of animals; buffalos, elk, horses, cows, Texas long horns, wild turkeys, and probably more that I am forgetting. The boys loved taking the golf cart around the area and checking on the animals. I don't know how many trips were made on the golf cart!
