Saturday afternoon we traveled from Northwood to Des Moines to spend the night in a hotel and go to the Iowa Cubs game on Sunday afternoon. We stayed at the Ramada hotel which has a fun pool for Landon, since he can touch in it! :) We checked into the hotel and unloaded the van then ran out to the mall area for a few errands before grabbing some Buffalo Wild Wings and going back to the hotel to eat supper. Landon was so excited to get to the pool, he ate his supper pretty fast! Landon and Mommy ventured to the pool area while Daddy worked on putting Mabel and Nolan to bed. Landon absolutely loved the pool and told Mommy multiple times that he was having so much fun and that he loved us so much for brining him there! After about two hours at the pool it was time to go back to the room to get some sleep. All the kids slept really well that night for all being in the same room at the hotel! Everyone was awake around 6:30 the next morning and the pool didn't open until 9....that is a long time for a 3 year old to wait so we heard a lot "is the pool open yet"! Finally the pool opened so Daddy, Mabel and Landon swam for a little while before we had to pack up and get some lunch before going to the Iowa Cubs game. We ate lunch at IHOP, the pool must have made Landon hungry because there was not a crumb left on his plate when we left. Next, the Iowa Cubs game; Nolan received 4 tickets to the game from the Gene Giraffe Project so we upgraded those seats to sit in the shade since it was a sunny, hot day. All the kids liked the game and we made it to the bottom of the 7th inning. During the 7th inning stretch a nice gentleman came up to Nolan and Daddy and gave him the foul ball that he caught during the game, he wanted Nolan to have it; that was very nice!
We had a great weekend away with our little family!
